SINCE 1978

The famous Peri-Peri sauce was invented by Mr.Marote in 1978 at Kaapmuiden Fish & Chips, where it began to attract a vast variety of clients who couldn’t resist it.

Mr. Marote later moved to Nelspruit and started Vasco da Gama in 1984. The business was so successful that people were prepared to wait in long queues for a taste of the tantalising Peri-Peri Chips. The business expanded over the years and exists to this day. Sadly in 1991 tragedy struck when Mr. Marote died in a truck accident. The Legendary Recipe was left with the family and in 1992, Vasco da Gama was sold.

In 1996 the Marote family started Hot Stuff Take Away’s at Sonpark, turning it into yet another successful business with their enticing food and quality service. It was sold in 1997 and still exists to this day. In 2005, the Marote family started Maroti’s at West End Shopping Centre and relocated to Crossing Shopping Centre in 2021 and are now back to offer clients that original quality and service they have always given over the years.

We have a variety of Chips, Hamburgers, Vienna’s, Hot Dogs, Russians, Chicken, Fish & Cold drinks along with the outstanding service we have always given over the years.
